NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY A LOCAL AUTHORITY
In accordance with Section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, Kilkenny Borough Council hereby give notice if its intention to carry out the following development:
- Four Historic Town Walking Trails:
Route 1 - City Centre Historic Trail - 1.2Km
Route 2 - The Medieval Historic Trail - 4.5Km
Route 3- St. Johns Quarter Historic Trail - 2.2Km
Route 4 - The River Walk Historic Trail - 4.0Km
- Erection of 365 No finger post/directional signage on public property
- Erection of 26 No interpretative/orientation boards on public property
- Erection of 70 No Plaques on points of interest on both public and private property
At the following 35 locations:

All works are located within the Kilkenny Castle Conservation Area, City Centre Conservation Area, Johns Street Conservation Area, Patrick's Street Conservation Area, Michael Street Conservation Area, St. Canice's Conservation Area & St. Mary's Conservation Area as outlined in the Kilkenny City and Environs Development Plan 2008-2014.

Plans and Particulars of the proposed developments are available for inspection at the
Planning Offices of Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny,
from Friday 27th February 2009, to Tuesday 14th April 2009, inclusive, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed developments, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable
development of the area in which the development will be carried out, may be made in writing to the undersigned on or before Tuesday 28th April 2009.
