Heritage Week Saturday 24th August - Sunday 31st August - Join the fun
Heritage Week starts Sunday 24th August, and runs until Sunday 31st August. This is our biggest and best Kilkenny Heritage Week, to date with over 40 events taking place throughout Kilkenny City and County. So now is your chance to find out more about the heritage in your area for free (most events during Heritage week are free!).
Events are taking place in Callan, Tullahought, Goresbridge, Graiguenamanagh, Newmarket, Tullaherin, Castlecomer, Urlingford, Thomastown, Bennetsbridge, Johnstown, Mullinavat and Kilkenny City.
You are invited on a magical journey through the past, present, and future of the Callan Workhouse, through the eyes of a child... Enrole your kids in a fun and practical class to learn about archaeology... bring the family to a fun filled afternoon with lots of activities including medieval enactments, traditional games, irish dancing, puppet show & more...take part in guided tours of kilkennys heritage gardens.

Heritage Week is co-ordinated by the Heritage Council with support from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government and it is part of European Heritage Days, a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union.
