PARKING CONTROL BYE LAW REVIEW 2012
Road Traffic Act, 1994
In accordance with Section 4 (2) and 36 of Part VI of the Road Traffic Act 1994, Kilkenny Borough Council hereby gives notice that it intends to make new Parking Control Bye-Laws for its functional area.
The bye-laws will regulate on-street parking, parking charges, and limitations and prohibitions on parking in the Borough of Kilkenny, including the designation of low cost parking spaces.
It is proposed to extend the boundary of the current scheme to include:
- Ashurst Housing Development
- Ashleigh Court Housing Development
- College Court Housing Development
- Butts Green
- Thomas Square
- Pearse Street
- McDonough Street
- Connolly Street
- St Joseph's Road .
It is also proposed to provide low-cost on street parking spaces ( €1 per visit/ €1 per day) at the following locations within the boundaries of the existing scheme;
Jacob Street, New Street, Walkin Street, Gaol Road, Fairgreen (part of), Dominic Street , Blackmill Street, Butts Green, Vicar Street, Wolfe Tone Street, Ballybough Street, Dublin Road, Castle Road and Fr. Hayden Road.
The bye-laws will include "residents only" areas, and will also cater for the issue of "carer/visitor" permits.
A copy of the draft bye-laws and associated maps are available for inspection free of charge, and for purchase for a fee of €20, at the offices of Kilkenny Borough Council, City Hall, High Street, Kilkenny, during the normal working hours of the Council, Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted) during the period of Tuesday 15th May 2012 to Friday 15th June 2012 (inclusive)
Submissions or observations with respect to the draft bye-laws may be made in writing to the undersigned to be received on or before 5:00 p.m. on Friday 29th June 2012.
